Skunks
These infamous animals
are not found in all Maryland counties. In our coverage area, they are found
in Carroll, Howard and Extreme Western Baltimore Counties. Skunks raid garbage
bags that are not secured in a can, but they are most troublesome when they
burrow under porches and foundations allowing their tell-tale scent to permeate
the home. Skunks are surprisingly docile animals despite their reputation.
It takes a lot of harassment to get a skunk to discharge. Babies, on the
other hand, are quick to spray as they need to learn how to control the
scent glands located at their posterior ends! Removing skunks can be tricky,
and they should not be approached by amateurs!
